Follow in the footsteps of imperial Chinese history on a private tour of the Great Wall of China and the Ming Tombs!
You will be picked up directly from your hotel in Beijing for a full day of exploration across three major sites of Imperial China.
In the morning, accompanied by your local guide, you will visit a section of the Great Wall of your choice: Mutianyu or Juyongguan. You will have the option to take a cable car to the summit at 1,015 meters to enjoy panoramic views of the Wall and surrounding mountains. If you prefer to walk, a 30 to 45-minute trail leads from the entrance to the base of the fortifications.
You will have approximately 2.5 hours to explore this iconic monument, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At your own pace, you will discover this ancient military structure that dates back to the 3rd century BC.
Next, you will enjoy a lunch break at a local restaurant and taste traditional Chinese dishes.
In the afternoon, your guide will take you to the Ming Tombs, located on Tianshou Mountain. You will visit the Changling Tomb, one of the best-preserved tombs on the site, where Emperor Yongle is buried. This vast necropolis is the resting place of 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty.
You will then take a walk along the Sacred Way, a solemn pathway lined with statues of guardians and mythical animals. This symbolic avenue leads to the entrance of the site and represents an important ritual passage in imperial culture.
At the end of the afternoon, you will be taken back to your hotel.
