Each tour covers a different geographical region of Easter Island, you will have the chance to see the main sites of the island.
- The Ahu Akivi, Ahu Vinapu and Puna Pau Archaeological Tour (half day):
During this tour of approximately 3.5 hours, you will walk through Rapa Nui National Park, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll gaze at more than 900 Moai, the huge statues of human figures carved from volcanic stone that represent the island's ancestors and tribesmen.
You'll continue your visit to the site of Ahu Akivi, a special sacred place on the island. You will discover why these seven giant statues in the site adopt the same position looking out to the ocean. You will also visit the site of Ahu Vinapu, where you will learn about the legends of the Moais, and observe one of the island's largest, which is lying down.
- Tahai, Orongo and Rano Kau Tour (half day):
On this half-day tour on the southwestern coast of the island, you will walk through the Tahai Ceremonial Complex, where you will observe restored Moais of various shapes and sizes. You will visit the Ana Kai cave located at the southern end of the capital Hanga Roa, and observe the many petroglyphs inside the cave. Your guide will tell you about the legends that took place here.
You will then walk around the Rano Kau volcano and its crater lake. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the volcano before heading to the ceremonial village of Orongo. There you will learn more about the village's importance during the 17th and 19th centuries.
- Tour Ahu Akahanga, Rano Raraku and to Anakena Beach (full day with lunch) :
You will spend a full day on the south-eastern and north-eastern parts of Easter Island. You will pass by the site of Ahu Akahanga in its original state and discover the Moai toppled and scattered around the area. You will then visit Ahu Tongariki, the largest ceremonial site which includes 15 standing Moais restored after being destroyed and displaced by a tsunami. You will pass the Rano Raraku volcano and see hundreds of partially visible Moai heads rising from the hills.
At lunchtime, you will enjoy a barbecue meal. You will end the day at Anakena Beach, a small, idyllic beach with white sand and clear blue water. You can relax on the beach and admire the 6 Moais standing in front of the sea.
