Champagne and history lovers, a minibus will collect you from your hotel and take you on a day trip to Reims. Your itinerary will include a visit to the cathedral and the Moët and Chandon wine cellars, lunch at Epernay and a drive through the Marne Valley...
Upon arrival in Reims, your guide will show you around the magnificent 13th-century Gothic cathedral where French kings including Louis IX and Charles VII were coronated.
You will then visit a vineyard to the north of Epernay where you'll be introduced to a wine press and the vast fermentation vats, as well as the bottling and disgorgement processes. See the key stages in the Champagne production process before sampling the refined finished product in a tasting session.
A lunch of traditional regional dishes will be served at a restaurant in Epernay.
In the afternoon you will visit the prestigious Moët and Chandon wine cellars, established in 1743, where the grape harvesting and production methods will all be revealed before you taste some for yourself.
At the end of the day, you will be taken back to your hotel in Paris, passing through the Marne Valley region on the way.
