Description

Live a unique experience in Lapland and go hunting for the Northern Lights in a sled pulled by a snowmobile!

You will meet the driver and the bus for an excursion to your hotel in Rovaniemi, then you will head into the forest in Lapland.

On arrival, you will put on special cold weather equipment (suit, boots, helmet, hood and gloves) then you will sit aboard a sled pulled by a snowmobile.

You will then crisscross the snow-covered plateaus, a real postcard of Lapland, guided by your snowmobile driver. During this walk, if the weather and luck favor you, you will have the opportunity to observe the Northern Lights.

After your walk, you will enjoy a friendly moment around a campfire and taste hot blueberry juice, a traditional preparation of the Sami people, and gingerbread.

Your guide will explain the habits and customs in Lapland and give you some advice to counter the negative temperatures.

At the end of your activity, you will be taken back to Rovaniemi.

  • Availability: every day from December to April (except in exceptional cases)
  • Departure time: between 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
  • The schedule will be confirmed by our service provider at the latest the day before the activity

  • Departure location: Departing from your accommodation located in the city center of Rovaniemi and within a radius of 10 kilometers around the city OR from the agency of our partner located in the city center of Rovaniemi
  • Children under 7 years old are not allowed to participate in this activity
  • Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Extreme cold equipment will be loaned to you: overalls, boots, gloves, balaclava and helmet
  • Please note that the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, they are dependent on weather and solar activity, so cannot be guaranteed
  • This activity requires a minimum of 2 people to be booked
  • The guide for this activity is English-speaking. However, if you select the "in French" option when booking, our on-site service provider will arrange for a bilingual English/French guide (option not guaranteed!)
