Experience a cultural immersion in a Buddhist temple in the heart of Seoul!
Day 1 - Arrival at the temple and activities (1:10pm - 9:30pm)
You'll make your own way to Hwagyesa Temple, located at the foot of Mount Samgaksan in Seoul. On arrival, you'll be greeted by temple staff and given all the explanations you need to make the most of your stay, followed by a guided tour of the temple.
In the late afternoon, you'll share a vegetarian dinner prepared according to Buddhist traditions.
You'll then attend the bell ceremony and the evening ceremony.
To conclude this day, you'll then take part in the 108 prostrations, a symbolic purification ritual, and make a rosary of 108 beads.
Day 2 - Morning rituals and meeting with a monk (5h0 - 10h30)
You'll start the day at dawn with a first Buddhist ceremony, called Yebool.
After a vegetarian breakfast, you'll attend a second morning ceremony in the temple.
You'll then share a special moment over tea with a monk, to discuss Buddhist philosophy and life at the temple.
Finally, after cleaning your room you'll leave the temple at 10:30am.
